Hello! My name is Michelle Zhang, and I am a senior at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. Welcome to my website where you can find my creative and academic portfolios, along with more personal information.
I am greatly interested in the study of humanities, particularly in classics. I have been taking Latin since freshman year and just began my study of Greek at school as well, and have also been engaged in multiple research papers on classics and spanning multiple disciplines, including gender studies, art history, reception studies, translation theory, comparative literature and more. I look forward to continuing my exploration of classics through these interdisciplinary lenses in college.
Beyond academics, I spend much of my free time in artistic pursuits. I have been a dancer since I was three, and an artist since I was five. As for creative writing, I don’t even remember when I started engaging with poetry and prose. Over the years, I have been able to develop my skills and passions in these respective areas, winning awards and holding leadership positions at school and beyond. I have even transformed my passions into an opportunity to give back, through advocacy-based art exhibitions and a dance program I led for children in my community. In this website you will find some of the work I am proudest of.
